The president's motorcade pulled out of Mar-a-Lago at 8:57 am in a light rain. It arrived at Air Force One at 9:09 in a Florida deluge whipped by wind. The tarmac covered in water. Pool is soaked.
Pool assembled three hours before that for the short drive to the resort. The sun rose over the palms during security screening. Pool vans then waited in the Banyon Cottage parking lot on the property. The preaident has been tweeting about last night's rally, his support for Roy Moore and his disdain for CNN.
We are behind schedule. Thunderstorms are pushing toward West Palm Beach from the west. Wheels up was planned for 8:45.
Background from the White.House below on what we can expect in Mississippi, other than near freezing cold. The president is scheduled to be wheels up at 11:55, while the outdoor phase of the ceremony is underway.
