The president's motorcade pulled out of Trump International Golf Club at 2:12 pm and arrived at Mar-a-Lago at 2:24.
A party of some sort was underway on the lawn. Tables set with what appeared to be a live auction.
Outside the Palm Beach Public Library, across the street from golf club, two protesters held handmade signs as we passed. A woman had a sign that read "Real News Fake President" that included a collage of photos and clips, including the August Newsweek cover depicting Trump on a lounge chair labeled "Lazy Boy."
And a man in a Santa outfit had a yellow sign that said: "SEASONS GREETINGS U R on the NAUGHTY LIST HAPPY HOLIDAYS"
Route back to Mar-a-Lago passed Air Force One parked on the tarmac. A family of four had pulled to the side of the road for a photo with the presidential aircraft as a backdrop.
Just before the bridge to Palm Beach over the intercoastal waterway, two guys at a pickup waved Make America Great Again flags. Another 10 or so pro-Trump folks held a "Trump 2020" banner and other signs at the bridge. A couple blocks back, a man and woman stood in a parking lot with a life size painting of the first lady and a smaller portrait of POTUS.
The parking lot/press staging area at MAL is filled now with cars, including many BWMs, Mercedes, and at least one Maserati and Rolls Royce, plus many brands more often spotted in pooler's neighborhood. Pool is holding.
