Good morning from the Bridgewater Marriott, where the weather is warm and the news, other than on President Trump's Twitter feed, is slim.
We have a lunch lid until 6 p.m. POTUS has two closed-press meetings today, one with Gov. Rick Scott of Florida at 1 p.m., one with Linda McMahon, the administrator of the SBA, at 3 p.m. Both will be at the Trump National Golf Club. She will give an update to the president regarding the agency tax reform and deregulation initiative, per White House spokeswoman Lindsay Walters.
Gov. Scott will also meet with General Kelly.
A few other items;
- Walters addressed the service for Heather Heyer, the day before.
"We appreciate the unifying words that Heather's mother spoke yesterday. We are working on identifying a time that is convenient for the family to speak with the president. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family."
- She would not address the president's tweets about confederate statues. "The tweets speak for themselves," she said.
- She said she had to check whether the president and Gary Cohn have spoken about what took place at the news conference at Trump Tower.
- She said the comments from Steve Bannon in the American Prospect piece speak for themselves, adding, "You're going to need to contact Steve Bannon for any further clarification."
