Marine One landed at a wind-whipped Joint Base Andrews at 11:31 AM.

POTUS, who wore a black overcoat over his suit, white shirt, and red tie, disembarked five minutes later.

He took an unexpected detour, walking across the tarmac toward the air terminal where about two dozen military service members and their relatives gathered along a fence line to watch the departure.

While you were down here, I wanted to say hello, POUTS said.

He went down the line and shook hands with them, wishing them a Merry Christmas.

POTUS waved to reporters and gave a thumbs up but didnt answer questions. Ill see you on the plane, he said.

POTUS walked back across the tarmac and up the stairs and boarded Air Force One.

AF1 was rolling for departure to Palm Beach International Airport at 11:43 AM.
